Fullness treated successfully with IQ

Sew - sometimes as a longarm quilter, I find a fullness in the borders that I struggle to cope with, and this Striated Star is an excellent example of this. Formed when a seamstress or quilt piecer stretches one or both fabrics as she sews the body of the quilt to a border, this example was compounded with dense quilting inside the body of the quilt. Take a look at the longarm stitching piano keys to eat up fullness -

Many more pictures follow, including those of the finished quilt. After the piano keys in a blending thread, I stitched the design over those in the purple. Close examination reveals the pleating, but it is controlled and spread across the area consistently, and will be less noticeable than other techniques that may have worked against the fullness, rather than with it.
